The Inception Workshop on Preparation of the Regional Asia Project – Reducing Uses and Releases of Chemicals of Concern (COC), including POPs, in the Textiles Sector Project Preparation Grant Phase will be held from 14.00-18.00 on 11 July 2021 on an online platform in Bangladesh. The main objective of this workshop is to discuss the policy situation analysis design; data knowledge management and sharing; use and management of chemicals; and, the textile supply chain to collect the basic situation with stakeholders towards the implementation of the Stockholm Convention on POPs in the Textile sector in Bangladesh.
The purpose of the launch event is as follows:
- To present the Project Preparatory Grant Stage to participants.
- Discuss, share results of existing and proposed policies; management and knowledge sharing of data, chemical use and management, and textile supply chains to gather basic understanding in Bangladesh.
- Gather feedback and input from stakeholders on the data presented.
The expected results or outputs from the launch event are as follows:
- Awareness and sensitivity of national stakeholders about reducing the use and release of chemicals of concern, including POPs, in the textile sector.
